Article by Lee Gilbert
Article writing is a skill that has to be acquired slowly with practice but there are some tips and strategies that can help you complete this task faster and with much more efficiency. So let us see how to write articles expertly in very less time without having to make corrections over and over again. The rules are the same whether you use a computer or a pen and paper.
Before you learn how to write articles, it is important to understand that concentration is the key. Even if you are sitting in the middle of a busy road, you can write efficiently provided you are concentrating on the work. Article writing begins in the head before words are put down on paper. Even if you cannot imagine the entire length of the article, at least plan the outline or maybe even the second paragraph to get going smoothly.
There are different types of discursive writing like argument, explanation, definition and description. It is important to understand the difference between each of these before you learn how to write articles as the rules vary slightly for each. An argumentative article is one in which you are trying to convince the reader of something like an idea or myth regarding a product. In an explanatory article, you take on the role of a teacher explaining an incident, situation or product. When you write an article defining something, it means that you must make the person understand the word of concept and when you write a description article, then your role is to describe in detail the various features of the topic at hand. Be concise and precise; do not blabber in your articles without having real content. Instead keep it simple and understandable yet creative to keep the reader engrossed. Organized writing is effective writing; hence make sure you understand the topic or research well to gather enough material before you sit down to write. It is often said that the first paragraph is the most difficult one; it need not be so. Be light and give life to the article in the first one without putting down any serious matter. The first paragraph is like the foundation to a sturdy home; if it crumbles, the reader will soon lose interest.
Try to avoid repeating words and phrases which make the article monotonous. Keep the topics flowing smoothly from one point to another instead of making abrupt breaks. Take care of spelling and grammatical mistakes; these can spoil the fun of reading even the most well written essays and articles. It is also important to conclude the essay well; just like the first paragraph, the last one is also equally important as it summarizes everything that you have written about in the entire article.
Now that you have learnt some great tips on how to write articles, incorporate these the next time you write to have a well written article in hand.
